I have never been very interested in making a “drummer record.” Most of my writing starts with feel, groove, atmosphere and whatever is actually on my mind at the time.
Momentum, in progress
I’m still writing Momentum, so I don’t want to over-explain a record that is not finished yet. I’m aiming for late 2026, but I want the music finished before I lock the date.
Right now it is leaning heavier than Coastal: more guitar, more distortion, more ambient and post-rock space, and more of the metal influence I grew up with. Some of it is darker, but I am still leaving room for the quieter parts.
The arrangements and track list are still changing. I want to leave enough room for the record to tell me what it is.
Coastal
Coastal was an idea I carried around for years. I have always been drawn to coastal places: the ocean, the weather and the open space. Iceland became a big part of the visual world around the record. My grandmother Gloria also painted the ocean and sea life, so there is a family connection in it for me too.
Musically it ended up combining ambient textures, alternative rock, groove, layered guitars and a group of collaborators who gave the record a lot of its personality.

Earlier work
Colored World and Apatheia were earlier experiments in writing and producing outside the role of just being the drummer. They are an important part of how I learned to build songs and work with other musicians.
Recording and collaboration
